Polar regions feel remote and guarded. The hollow-Earth story starts with that honest gap in experience, then asks whether the empty space below is much larger than textbooks admit.

In the story, the poles are not simply cold ends of a globe. They are entrances. Strange magnetic readings, missing areas on old maps, stories of explorers, and reports of lights in the sky become signs of a passage into an inner world. Beneath the crust, the claim says, there may be land, oceans, cities, or an older civilization protected from the surface world.

The official model is presented as convenient. Scientists say there is a molten core even though no one has stood there. Governments say the poles are open to research even though travel is difficult and expensive. The theory says the public is given diagrams because diagrams are easier to control than direct experience. A hidden interior would be the ultimate secret because most people could never check it themselves.

The mystery grows because the Earth still has unknown places. If people can be wrong about the ocean floor and deep caves, why trust a story about the deepest place of all? In this narrative, the lack of a doorway on a tourist map is not a problem. It is the reason the doorway was worth hiding.

Their speed, direction, reflection, and disappearance change in specific ways as they pass through different materials. Those measurements show a crust, mantle, liquid outer core, and solid inner core. A large empty cavity would change the wave paths in ways that are not observed.
